Stephie Joyce, Skipper of the “Oilean an Oir”

Stephie is a born and bred Islander from Inis Mór, Co Galway and a dedicated fisherman. He achieved MSC (Marine Stewardship Council Certification) for his Mackerel and Herring and according to the time of year harvests natural prawn and whitefish. Stephie is held is in high regard by his peers and is dedicated to the long term sustainable fishery of the Galway and Aran prawn grounds and is committed to preserving the industry for future generations of Galwegian and Islander fishermen. Stephie is currently the chairman of the Galway and Aran Fisherman’s Co-operative a is a certified member of Responsible Irish Fish.
